  • It's almost that time, get your poodle shirts and saddle shoes out and join Big John and I at Lead East. This is your chance to get lost in the 50's over the Labor Day Weekend, be sure to stop and say hello!

  • Lead East is a total revival of a great period of American life.
It has the cars and music of that time, you can't get any closer to the real 50's than this happening.
I know personally because I was there when it all happened.
I saw the end of the Big Band era and the birth of Rock & Roll as a kid listening to my radio late at night, Rhythm & Blues, Rock a Billy and Pop music develop into that wonderful time.
    Then I saw it die.
    Elvis got drafted.
    The
    Everly Brothers joined the Marines.
    Little Richard went Religion.
Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13 year old cousin-that killed the killer.
    Sam Cook got shot dead.
Johnny Ace played Russian Roulette and lost.
Bill Haley fell out of style and went to Europe.
Jackie Wilson had a stroke on stage.
Bit by bit it wore out and died like all of the other styles of Music.
At Lead East I see all of these younger people
come to celebrate the 50's but look upon me as just an old
man at 73 yrs. and kind of dismiss me.
But hell, this old relic went thru it all from beginning to end.
I KNOW what the 50's was all about
So if you run into some old gray haired people
just remember they are the the survivors of some of the best
times in America...[wish it never left]

See you at Lead East this Fall.

  • We'll be there again, this is my favorite show of the year, a weekend of cars, good people, and some R & R. If you haven't been to this show, you need to check it out!
