Hi john, not to worry about the Comet as we found a Falcon Sport last weekend and pick the car up tomorrow. I'll post dome photos soon. 
I like the look of the wagons, I think they have hideaway lights? They are quite cheap in Europe, not sure about stateside as I could only find a couple for sale. Let me know though as it sounds interesting.

If things go as planned, We Will get to hook back up with Marty this weekend and watch a Great Photographer Al Rogers shoot one of Marty's Car Finds !

Went out to breakfast yesterday with a good friend, after he said he wanted me to look at a car that was for sale and ............. Yep, a new toy! A 1973 Bonneville, running a 455. A real nice solid car, been lowered, fast, smooth and huge. 
I need help, anyone have an empty warehouse I can move into?

Hey Dan, thanks for posting the pics, I always enjoy seeing stuff over there.  What is is blue VW truck?  I've never seen anything like it before.  As for the Comet, I have tried to stay on it, but as Lea told you his son really wants the car, and maybe thats been the holdup.  I haven't seen the wagon for a while, but it was a nice car.  It had a shaker hood on it, white with a blue interior, I think it was running a 351, I'll check.

O K , I'm getting the last of the customer cars built for the Zeppelin Diner . I'm adding a couple of little details as they become avalibile . I was scrounging an Ollies store and discovered a Masito Die- cast 1936 harley Davidson in 1-24th scale . I realized this would be a perfect "Impulse " addition to the diner . I'll probably add it to the side parking lot along with a Cord that's now completed . I had a color swatch of a gentleman who used to own such a Cord out in Varinia Virginia years ago. I'ts a Butter Creame Yellow even thouh it usually shows white .
 
In addition, there will be a early El Mirage S C T A Land speed car or 1927 Ford Model T with a Model A Ford with some very early speed equipment being towed by a 1936 Ford truck .
 
The last shot shows a rear shot of the 36 Ford truck and Zep, faithful Brown Labrador ..........

Dan you guys always have a REAL nice turnout at that show, some super nice rides out there with you all !
(PS) we visited that shop were the Gent' was considering selling your friend his car, but it was finally confirmed yesterday that his son said NO WAY Dad that car is ALL my Childhood Memories and wants it to stay in the family. But it talking with them there are 2 others that he would be willing to let go of which is: a '70 Ford Fairlane and a '71 Torino wagon and a '71 Catalina. If any of those sound like its worth discusing I'll post up more info to you. I will be adding them to SRM swap, trade or Sell thread shortly.

Both the 1929 Ford Model A roadster and the 1930 Packard Speedster are now done . Both will be on the Curb at the Zeppelin Diner . On the bench, a 1936 Cord 812 convertable to go to the side parking lot ................

Theres a few unusual cars here, like the shortened 57 Chevy, Edsel Camino, narrowed VW Bus with central driving seat.  even a Buick Wagon with the LTi engine. Only a couple of these in the UK, and I believe quite rare in the States too.

Whilst the weather forecast was for torrential rain it didnt stop 100's of cars turning up for the cruise-in today.
Luckily it stayed dry most of the time, with only one short period of rain.

Nascar legend Dick Trickle has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after calling police to alert them to where they would find his dead body. The 71-year-old’s body was found a short distance from his pickup truck at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Boger City, North Carolina.
Trickle had called to warn 911 that “there would be a dead body and it would be his”.  a Call Back  was made, but No answer when the emergency operator called the number back. 
Trickle became a Nascar legend, as much for his name and his eccentric behaviour as for his racing talent. RIP Dick.

“Here are some shots of my wheels being machined. My friend Dale, who was a very good machinist, worked off my blueprints. They started out as 2″ thick aluminum T6 billet and 10hrs of machining to make the centers. BBS rim shells and ARP fasteners finished them up. It was a shame in a way to cover up that beautiful finish with black powder coat but I think they turned out pretty good.”

“This is the construction page where the upper frame was mated to the body to offer support as well as safety. It was challenging to hold the body which at this point can be a little flimsy. Time and care were used to measure and cross measure to properly hold the body at the right location. The supporting frame was 2″ round tube with .093″ wall. The tubing on the bottom was a mixture of 2″ and 1.5″ square.”
“Countless hours of body work will take place to make sure the body is perfect before paint. It was painted with a self-etching primer first, then sealed with an epoxy primer, body work, a second coat of epoxy and finally topped with a high build primer that was block sanded to perfection. I spent 25 hours in the booth on all 33 separate pieces. Each piece was carried out of the basement and brought back down carefully.”

“The project as it started in 1990. A wooden forming buck to shape the body panels to. I made it from the combination of a 1:16 scale model and measuring a real car. I spent a year on that wooden buck… I started at the back and worked my way to the front, hand forming the aluminum on an English wheel…”
“Here are the pictures of the chassis. A full tube frame supporting the aluminum body. Hand built stainless steel 180 deg. headers with 12″long racing mufflers.  All Corvette design suspension replaced with steel tube and rod ends for adjustments on caster, chamber and toe. Aluminum radiators with 2400cfm puller fans set to turn on at 180 degs or an override switch on the dash. 4 piston Wilwood calipers on 12″ rotors.  Full adjustable front and rear sway bars, and coil over shocks.”

Why is this article called “The Bull in the Basement” you ask? Well it’s because Ken Imhoff of Oxford, England decided to build a dream car in his basement which took 18 years. The build started in 1990 and finished in 2008. Upon finishing the car, the only way to get the car out and enjoy his creation was to knockout the wall in his basement and extract the car….. seriously guys/girls. You’ll enjoy this one . ENJOY
