Still Around
Still Runnin Unveils Prospective Project Cars
With ‘55 thru ‘57 Chevys, Ford, Olds, etc. prices going through the roof, maybe it’s time to look for alternatives to hot rod or drive. I have read a lot of articles lately about 4 door classics and how they are cheaper and usually in better shape due to not being abused as badly as their counterparts. I have always been a fan of old wagons (2 door or 4 door) for their practicality and price. However, as of late, wagon prices have jumped considerably.
If you don’t mind being a little different there are some bargains Still Around that with minimal work, will draw as much or more attention than the real popular stuff.
This ‘55 Studebaker Champion for instance. A low production 2 door that is drivable with all original running gear for under $3,000! It’s a 6 cyl. with 3 speed on the column, minor body work and glass work needed.

If you look closely you’ll see original hubcaps on stock wheels with bias-ply wide white walls. When is the last time you saw one of these at your local cruise in or anywhere else for that matter? (I’m having trouble not bringing this one home myself)
This ’55 Studebaker Champion is ready for a loving restoration, if you’re interested in the car give Bob Norfleet a call at Select Classics (804-447-3849) & tell him that Still Runnin magazine sent you.
Past Lives Of Your Ride
I am the current owner of a 1964 GTO convertible. I purchased the car in Mine Hill, NJ in 1974 from a small car lot. The car is a very early production car, 3x2’s, 4 speed black / black top, red interior, ps, wood wheel, tach, washer/wipers, day/night mirror. When purchased it had Bob & Barb written on dashpad. PMD Historical Society says the car is too early in production to tell me anything other than basics (3x2s, 4speed, color etc.)
Anyone with information such as original owner, additional owners, which dealer it was ordered from, etc. regarding this car would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Still Runnin.
This column is a monthly feature for owners who would like to find out as much as can be learned about your rides. Be sure to list the year, options, and as much as you know about the car. Any modifications made before you purchased it might help someone to recognize the car. Good luck!
