Willie’s Tropical Tattoo,
Ormond Beach, Florida
What has become the biggest and best chopper show in the Greater Daytona area, a record number of entries rode into Willie’s Tropical Tattoo on US1. It was elbow room only with both spectators and some of the best real chopper builders and riders participating. There are no guaranteed trophy’s here with your entry fee, the guys at Willie’s Tropical Tattoo put this show on for free.
The front parking lot was cram-packed spilling over into the backyard where some great Rock-a-Billy sounds were being played by the Kings of Hell band.
Roadside Marty and Markus had their work cut out this year, it was a head scratching kinda day trying to pick out the winners from the 150 entries. The Worlds Biker Press had equally as hard of a time trying to determine which bikes to single out to do photo shoots of. There were definitely many fine choices of kool choppers to pick from this year at Willie’s Ol’ School Chopper Show.
With a party like this you wonder what must the neighbors think? Well, they know a good party when they see one. They opened their parking lots up at no charge to help accommodate Willie’s guests and the show kept rolling. Party World, one of the neighboring business’ was very gracious, they opened their back fence to help the overflowing crowd park and enjoy the show. Hell, they were parked all the way to the river behind Willie’s. In addition right across US1 from Willie’s there’s a very large shopping center, good thing too ... because this show just continued to have overflow all day!
Like we said, this was the biggest and best chopper show in Daytona during the 67th bike week festivities. A repeat performance is on tap for 2008’s Biketoberfest, so mark your calendars, you won’t be disappointed.
