It may have been the Ballbusters’ fun-spirited attitudes
that looked to be contagious among the other participants and
spectators that had arrived early to the track, because not
one individual that we saw wasn’t happy to be
there sloshing through the mud.
Despite the dismal weather that made itself welcome for the first part of the Jalopy Showdown, we met this bunch of guys who had settled in for the night at the fairgrounds the night before the show. They were proof that the show was not going to be a wash out of fun regardless of the stormy weather.
Speaking of stormy weather, Brian better known as Bub, to his friends is the owner of this Rod. By trade Bub is a heating man (if you hadn’t noticed by the likes of his ride.) How many times have we heard the old adage that a landscaper has the worse yard on the block, a plumber has leaky facets at home and so on. Well, Bub the Heating Man drove his car all the way to the Showdown freezing his butt off with No Heat in his Jalopy. (I bet those fine porcelain interior seats he installed didn’t help either.) He did tell us he was going to have to fix that little no heat issue. But as luck would have it the sun broke out from behind those storm clouds making Saturday a great day at the track in Latimore, PA.
Still Runnin Magazine meets a lot of fun people on our road trips and show adventures. We met the “Ballbusters”, a great bunch of guys at the Jalopy Showdown.
