Like most of us, life doesn’t always allow you to do what you want or what you’re good at. Charlie found himself having to work jobs that did not include the word artist in the job description to make ends meet. To add salt to the wound, Charlie incurred a serious set back when his need for speed sent him crashing his motorcycle, resulting in six months of rehabilitation due to a bad head injury. But maybe the head injury brought Charlie to his senses, he relocated to Boston, MA in 2003 where he striped part time.
Most of his work was coming from south of Boston, so in 2006 Charlie and his wife, Anna moved to Connecticut and has been pinstriping full time ever since the move. Charlie does a lot of traveling to the shows and is usually accompanied by Anna.
If you haven’t figured out why Charlie is named the “One Arm Bandit” take a closer look while he is striping. He was born without his right hand, however his prosthetic arm looks as great as his striping. If you see Charlie at a show be sure to stop and say hello, he would like to make your acquaintance. Visit the One Arm Bandit’s website to see more of this talented young man’s work where you can find the newest designs and merchandise. And if this wasn’t enough to keep the two of them busy, Charlie and Anna have a second website covering traditional hot rodding. Check it out at www.hotrodrevival.com it is a great site for any gearhead.
