To Still Runnin Magazine,

Thanks for the flashback to 1962 when I purchased a Buick identical to your cover pic in issue 2, a 1954 Special, same color, 4 door,3 speed and small block. Sump fell off the oil pump, turned the rods blue and pitched one thru’ the oil pan.Installed a ‘56 roadmaster engine and the serious fun began for this old sleeper. Put a hurtin’ on some Chevys and Olds J2’s, altho’ I mashed about a tranny per week.

Thanks,
Cousin George

PS. Wow, a Buick on the cover of issue 3 ... two in a  row!  Thanks I love all Buicks. Thanks for a great web site, the Ford Barners all seemed to enjoy it!

Dear George ...

SR contacted George asking him to share with us a photograph of his Buick. Shown here is a photo of George’s favorite of all Buicks that he owned, a 1953 Skylark. George purchased It from a prominent lady in Youngstown, Ohio back in 1962. George had it nosed, decked, frenched and painted in a 1958 Ford midnight blue. He drove it to Maryland when he and his teen wife eloped. George sold it a few years later to buy a VW Beetle. George told us and we quote .....  “Dang I miss that car !”
