Also there were a lot of vehicles with car seats for the family. Just some of the reasons this show is my favorite, it’s not just a car show, it’s a 4 day journey back in time.

Come nighttime my son and I attended the drive-in theater set up on the rear of the hotel and watched a 3-D movie, then Rebel Without a Cause. It was also good to see the younger crowd learning and participating in old-fashioned hot rodding. This is one way to keep old iron from being scrapped and to keep this hobby alive. Friday night two more parking lots opened up, it takes about an hour to cruise all the lots. With the top down, people all over the car and cruising around 1400 cars, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Saturday and Sunday had all of the previous mentioned activities, also rides in an old amusement rocket ride with a 454cu Chevy big block stuffed underneath it, Rockabilly bands, including the Razorbacks (who we always catch on Main Street in Daytona during Biketoberfest and Bike Week), a vehicle from Woody Allen’s movie Sleeper, vendors, model building contest, classes on how to dress 50’s, write songs, dance 50’s, etc.

Monday morning we packed up the Goat, dropped my son off in Jersey where he lives with my “X” and headed back to VA. Although I didn’t cut the car any slack, it did well on the return trip getting as high as 14 mpg and as low as 8 mpg when I got my foot into the tri-power, sure is a hard car to drive slow. I highly recommend attending this show. There is something for just about everybody. Big John Logo

P.S. Anybody got a 14” stock spinner hubcap for a ‘64 GTO ?????
