Jalopy Showdown & Hot Rods & Harleys
Hot Rods and Harleys. Kinda says it all doesn’t it? Rahway, New Jersey is home to this well put together and well run show. This being our first time attending the annual HR&H we where pleasantly surprised as we were given our paperwork, T-shirt, and a small trophy, then directed where to park, all in short order.
All of downtown was cordoned off for the show cars, with the railway that runs down the center of town dividing the bikes from the cars, but more on that later.
We left Richmond VA., Friday morning in our ‘58 Vette, hoping for the best as we had just finished putting a new clutch in Thursday and did not have time for a shake down run. The weather forecast was for severe thunder storms with high winds for Friday, so we decided to leave the hard top on, something I don’t usually do.
This proved to be a good decision as the rain was heavy most of the day. We wanted to check out the Jalopy Showdown in Latimore PA. on the way so we took Rt.15 towards Harrisburg. This is a show we have heard about before but never had been to.
