It is with Sadness to Inform Fellow Gearheads that Daniel Weis has Passed Away, May 16th, 2014. Dan was the Owner & Promoter of the Richmond Dragway in Virginia. Thursday, May 22nd we will Celebrate Dan's Life at his Most Favorite Place in the Whole World, the Richmond Dragway Located at 1955 Portugee Rd in Sandston, VA. from 2-3:15. Richmond Dragway Racers are Invited to Bring their Racecars to Display on Thursday for the Service ... His lifelong obsession with cars and speed began as a young adult and with the help of his family, Weis was the first driver to race an un-supercharged dragster to 200 mph. An avid entrepreneur, Weis started a small speed shop in the back of his family’s auto repair center and later expanded to promoting drag racing events on the airstrips at Petersburg and Emporia. At the time, his tracks were among the first 10 sanctioned drag racing facilities east of the Mississippi. He began Richmond Dragway with the help and support of his parents, siblings and friends and hosted NHRA, NASCAR Drag Division, NAAR and IHRA drag racing at his track over a 50 year career.

Part of the National Corvette Museum Collapsed in Kentucky, a 40 Foot Sinkhole Estimated 25 to 30 Feet Deep Swallowed Up Multiple Corvettes Housed in the Sky Domed Section of the Museum. It's Been Reported that Five or Six of the Corvettes are Owned by the Museum, the Other Two or Three Were on Loan, thus Far Eight Have Dropped into the Hole. Bowling Green, Kentucky is Home of the Iconic Corvette. The Museum is to Host a 20th Anniversary of the Museum in September this Year with a Corvette Caravan. Car Clubs from Around the World are Expected to Share in the Celebration, Over 1,000 Folks Already Registerred for the Event. The Corvette Museum Located in Bowling Green is Situated in the Midst of the State of Kentucky's Largest Karst Region Were Many of the Longest and Deepest Caves Run Underground. Structural Engineers Have Been Called In to Assess Damage and Stability of the Area.
